[The video feed clicks on, except at first, the image is upside down and you're getting a pretty decent view of a blue jacket before the camera's righted and held back at an angle where you can actually see who's holding the thing.

Bucky's still wearing his Howling Commandos uniform and looks a little worse for wear, if only because he was just in a firefight that went badly after you know. He fell off of a very fast moving train and into a frozen river, but the Barge has healed any injuries and he's just ready to get going on this. He can worry about the rest of it (being dead) later. So he just smiles at the camera, and there's a touch of the familiar cockiness in the expression, even if he's more or less trying to be professional. This is a job, after all.]

This is Sergeant James Barnes, formerly with the 107th Infantry. U.S. Army. Most people call me Bucky. I've been on assignment with the Howling Commandos for the last couple months, but I guess someone decided I'd be better off transferring here for as long as this Admiral guy thinks I'll be useful. [It's a joke, see? Also Bucky really, really does not know what to think of him or this place in general, because this is really not what he thought the afterlife would look like at all.]

So if anyone's got some advice on what to expect for the new guy, I'd appreciate it. [Really, he's got a lot of questions he wants to ask, but he'll leave it at that for now.]

[That gets a bit of an exasperated groan out of him, and a sideways grin to Bucky.]

Confusing as all get out, for the most part. People keep telephones in their pockets and Stark's kid invented a flying metal suit.

Stark's kid? [That had to be weird. Really, the whole thing had to be, but that kind of went without saying.]

Yeah, his name's Tony. He's an alright guy if you can get past the...being a billionaire thing. He....really reminds me of Howard, sometimes, but don't tell him that.

Not sure how I'm gonna, unless he's here too.

[He shrugs a little.] Either, I guess.

Well -- there's a girl from home here, aside from Peggy. Her name's Natalie. She's pretty swell.

--Oh, and a fella called Loki. Don't trust a thing he says, he's -- the second time I had to save the world? It was his fault.

[He wants to ask more about Natalie, but that next part's kinda distracting.]

What'd he get up to?

Well -- tried to take over the world with an army of things from outer space. Starting with New York City. [...It's a little weird, how matter-of-fact he is about something that sounds like it's out of a film serial.]

Stark and -- some others and I, we all stopped it.

[... That is exactly what Bucky's thinking not even going to lie.]

Since when did your life turn into some movie?

[That's a little rueful grin, and a slight nudge.]

Since you shipped out, I guess.

[Fine, mister, you're being nudged back. A little harder. C:]

You know, back when you pulled that stunt back at the HYDRA base and busted us all out? It kinda did feel like I was just hallucinating some movie plot or something.

[And that gets an actual laugh out of him.]

Maybe you were, 'cause I had no idea what the hell I was doing. Just knew I needed to get you outta there.

Thanks. Again. [He says it like he's joking, but only because he's said it before and it's easier to keep things light for now, which is also why he's not vocalizing concerns that you blamed yourself for what happened to him.]

[Have another fond nudge.] Welcome. You can't get rid of me that easy.

[Bucky just laughs again.] Wouldn't want to anyway.

Good, 'cause I'm not going anywhere. And neither are you, if I have anything to say about it. [And so we assume they arrive at the bar?]

[Yes indeedy. c: And Bucky's maybe looking at it a little oddly because...] So, is this a Barge or a cruise ship?

...Uh, kind of both? It's a bit odd, is what it really is. There's a library and a gym, too.

Strangest prison I've ever heard of.

Yeah, me too. But you sort of get used to it after a while.

Good to know. [And, you know, Bucky's pretty good at rolling with the punches when it comes down to it.]

Still don't think I've gotten used to the floods and things, yet, but I don't think I ever will, either. [And Steve's gonna be grabbing both of them a beer.]
